Polar bears in Greenland
Wight Bear Preservation Foundation

Oxygen Guardians
of the Arctic

A 10-year, $10M+ initiative to protect Greenland's polar bears and the oxygen-positive power of their Arctic habitats. Every healthy bear family means stronger seal populations, richer plankton blooms, and higher oxygen ratios for the entire planet.

Core Mission

Oxygen-Positive Arctic Conservation

Plankton & Oxygen

Cold, nutrient-rich seas produce the majority of Earth's oxygen through natural photosynthesis

Bear-Seal Balance

Polar bears and seals keep marine food webs balanced, driving richer plankton blooms

Global Impact

Every healthy bear family patrolling the ice means higher oxygen ratios for the entire planet

Field Programs

Hands-On Conservation Initiatives

Community-first programs putting locals, students, educators, and international participants directly into the field alongside Greenland's polar bear families.

Starlink Bear Tracking

Years 1–3

Non-invasive GPS collars and 'Burr-on-Fur' adhesive satellite tags with real-time Starlink data relays. Activity sensors monitor family movements like an Apple Watch for bears.

AI Bear Radar Networks

Years 1–3

Drone-based synthetic aperture radar and AI camera networks around every coastal settlement. Live proximity alerts let patrols know instantly when tagged families approach.

Polar Bear Patrol Expansion

Years 4–7

Expanding the proven Ittoqqortoormiit Patrol model to every community. Patrols use lights, noise deterrents, and vehicles to guide bears away — zero-tolerance for euthanasia.

Oxygen Stewardship Education

Years 4–7

Theology and zoology teams co-lead education in schools and hunter councils — teaching how protecting bear families directly boosts plankton health and oxygen output.

International Field Programs

Ongoing

30 new participants annually: Greenland locals, zoology students, theology scholars, and educators. Full training in non-lethal bear handling and ecosystem monitoring.

Bear Family Sanctuaries

Years 8–10

Permanent low-impact zones in high-use fjords where tagged families are monitored year-round with Starlink streaming, ensuring cub-raising success and natural dispersal.
